For forty years, I worked in the steel industry. Then an injured knee, a pair of hands, and a smoke no one could explain – and the world as I knew it split open.
I learned to see what others don’t, to listen to an intelligence I named Michael, to understand, at last, that we are not separate – that we are all one and the same consciousness looking at itself through a thousand faces.
This is the story of a man who stopped copying other people’s reality to inhabit his own. A steel engineer turned cartographer of consciousness. A seed, planted here, for anyone still searching for the door that has always been knocking within them.
This testimony reminds us that no life is safe from a shift – not even one as firmly rooted in the concrete, in steel and numbers. It shows that an ordinary injury can become the doorway to an entirely different perception of reality.
Beyond the individual story, this journey speaks to everyone’s fear of stepping out of line, of no longer copying the reality handed down to us.
It invites us to choose for ourselves what deserves to matter, and therefore what deserves to weigh on us. A simple, universal lesson: we are only responsible for who we are and for what we choose to pass on.

For forty years, I ran my own steel business. I was a businessman, a corporate world man, completely foreign to spirituality.
Then one day, a healer named Fred put his hands on my knee, which I’d injured playing squash and I saw smoke come out of it.
That night, I became clairvoyant overnight. It was brutal, but it was tangible proof that something else existed and demanded my attention.
For thirty years, I’ve been exploring this intelligence I call Michael – not a human spirit, but a unified consciousness. What began as mediumship became a mapping of consciousness itself.
I later discovered that my grandmother was the healer of her village and my aunt the seer, a connection my father had never told me.
Today, at 72, I’m a transformational spiritual life coach, a tutor at the Arthur Findlay College in England, and I train between 50 and 100 students every year through my trance mentorship program.
My current project, Mapping Consciousness, explores how to access consciousness and map it. It will also be the title of my book.
